CTE pathway accountability without admin burden
CTE and work-based learning programs are accountable to students, employers, and often Perkins or state reporting. The risk is that accountability becomes spreadsheet theater — hours logged, forms filed — while the actual pathway experience drifts.
Separate compliance from responsibility
Compliance artifacts matter. They aren't the same as mandates like "every concentrator has a quality WBL experience" or "employer partners get reliable student readiness." Track both: commitments for the human outcomes, tasks for the required paperwork.
Give teachers a light ownership surface
- Few clear commitments per pathway — not dozens of micro-tasks
- Silence and overdue signals instead of weekly status essays
- Shared context when a section teacher changes mid-year
Directors see roll-up, not noise
Responsibility Radar and mandate health let CTE directors intervene on pathways at risk without reading every teacher's to-do list. That's accountability without the admin burden that burns people out.
